In this study, NOAA/AVHRR MCSST data and NASA/GSFC/SeaWIFS data are used to research the SST and chlorophyll-a distribution feature, the Scomberomorus niphonius and Stromateoiudes argenteus fishing yield and relationship between fish resources and environmental factors in the South Yellow Sea between April and June in 2006.The results are as follows:1. In this area, the Scomberomorus niphonius fishing yield is high in 32.5°-34°N,121.5°-123.5°E, whereas the Stromateoiudes argenteus catch is high in 32.5°-34°N,122°-123.5°E.2. The relationship between fishing yields of Scomberomorus niphonius and Stromateoiudes argenteus resources and marine environmental factors is studied quantificationally. By statistics analysis, the statistical characteristics of neon flying squid catch with SST and chlorophyll-a are found. It shows that during April to June, the favorite temperature of Scomberomorus niphonius is 10-14℃when the fishing yield occupies 53.51%. The catch is specially high in 12-13℃occupying 17.2%.As for Stromateoiudes argenteus, during April to June, the favorite temperature is 9-14℃when the fishing yield occupies 75.76%. The catch is also very high in 12-13℃occupying 20.35%.3. During April to June, the scope of chl-a concentration is about 0.1-0.3mg/ m 3 for Scomberomorus niphonius when the fishing yield occupies 96.48% and when the chl-a concentration is about 0.12-0.22mg/ m 3, the catch is the highest occupying 64.79%. While during April to June, the scope of chl-a concentration is also about 0.1-0.3mg/ m 3 for Stromateoiudes argenteus when the fishing yield occupies 95.87% and when the chl-a concentration is about 0.1-0.18mg/ m 3, the catch is the highest occupying 67.24%.4. For Scomberomorus niphonius, the correlation of catch with SST is high in April when it is positive in the whole area. However, in May and June, it is positive in low-temperature area but negative in high-temperature area. The correlation of catch with chl-a is mostly negative from April to June, namely the larger of catch, the lower of concentration of chl-a. The correlation of catch with longitude is not evident and so is latitude. During April to June, the high fishing yield of Scomberomorus niphonius district locates in 32.5°-34°N,121.5°-123.5°E.As to Stromateoiudes argenteus, the correlation of catch with SST is high in April and May, when it is positive in the whole area. However, in June, it is positive in low-temperature area but negative in high-temperature area. The correlation of catch with chl-a is mostly negative from April to June. The correlation of catch with longitude and latitude is not evident. During April to June, the high fishing yield of Stromateoiudes argenteus district mainly locates in 32.5°-34°N,122°-123.5°E.
