Based on the demands of exploration and the data characteristics, theproposed 2D geological data model is fit for analyzing geo-data aiming atthe problems of geo-data integral analyzing and the multi-scale of spatialdata. The 2D geological conceptual model, logical model and physicalmodel and the method of Spatial Analysis based on the model are studied.Thispaperpresentsageologicalinformationunit modelusingamethodofgrid division and encoding of spatial information multi-grids based onquad-tree, in which the geological information unit is the basic unit tomanage andanalysis geological data.Thepaperdiscusses howtoorganizethe spatial data and attribute data and the method of spatial analysis, suchas multi-scale integration, neighboring region analysis, roll up and drilldown, and designs a prototype system of 2D geological model, whichrealize the construction, spatial inquiry, spatial analysis and visualizationof the geologic structure such as stratum and fault and the geologic field.Simultaneously, build a 2D model for the geologic and geophysicsinterpretation, verifying the validity and practicability of the model. The2D geological data model based on geological information unit can meetthe demand of the multi-scale expression of the geological data, afford auseful method for geologic analysis, and provide data for professionalanalysisandmodelbuildingeffectiveingeologic,geophysics,etc.
