Except its own gravity, offshore suction caisson still endures the wave loading whichwill effects for a long time. Under this condition the foundation's stress is very complicate. So,system analysis its static-dynamic stability becomes a very important subject in OceanGeotechnical Mechanics. At the same time it also induces the designer's attention. Therefore,in order to cooperate with ocean engineering design, it is necessary to perform the tests oncyclic behavior of soils and develop the experimental technique.and analytical theory ofmarine soil mechanics. Suction caisson foundation is paid attention to by marine petroleumkingdom in the shallow maritime space and deep sea area, but because the working mechanicsand computational method for stability analysis of suction caisson foundation are not clarifiedyet, so it urgently needs to carry on the research for theory analysis and computational methodin order to perfect the design theory system. For this reason, the geotechnical testing equipments including the advanced apparatus forstatic and dynamic universal triaxial and torsional shear soil testing are employed to performmonotonic triaxial tests and cyclic shear tests under unconsolidated-undrained condition.Through a series of tests on saturated clay, the monotonic shear behavior of clay aresynthetically examined and studied. Based on this a numerical implementation of the finiteelement method for these two models and secondary development are completed on theplatform of the universal finite element software ADINA, furthermore based on theequivalent principle of generalized shear stress, the equal relations between the stress oftesting samples in the geotechnical tests and the stress of soil elements in real clay ground areset up. The finite element computational model for the ground foundation under suctioncaisson is established according to these equal relations, and the numerical analysis for themonotonic beating capacity is carried out through this computational model.
