The geographic information system for seismic tomography is a unattached geographic information system software which try to manage seism surface wave tomography data. Sponsored by NSFC and special plan of the Ministry of Land and Resources, we study Geographic Information System applying in managing datum about seism.In this thesis, we manage initial seismic data and result data which are used or bringed in the tomography of seismic data from digital seismic stations of Eurasia and the West Pacific by GIS. Since these tomography datum are have cumulated for years, the amount of these is very big and the kinds of these is so many include initial records,CMT,ASCCII data,mixed dispersion data,group velocity distributing chart,3D velocity distributing chart and so on. By right of managing spatial data, the geographic information system is used to neaten these datum and chart. We design the interface by VB and MO components that can display map so as to the interface friendly and simple and take ACCESS as background database which associate with papers to store datum simple and convenient.The signification of this system is to promote GIS applying in geophysics and to improve the efficiency of geophysical data analysis and processing. This database system is helpful for probing into the deep earth, the form and evolvement of lithosphere/asthenosphere, the form and evolvement and the relation of surface structure and deep structure of Eurasia.
