In this paper, the mean zonal winds in MLT region(90-120km) over East Asia were studied by using the WINDâ…¡/UARS measurement during Nov. 1991-Aug. 1997 via making use of the way to eliminate the impact of tides(especially diurnal tides) in reason, presenting the seasonal characters distribution by latitude and altitude. At the same time, these WINDâ…¡data (without impact of tides) were compared with HRDI analysis results before, to obtain the estimate of the bias derived from the prevailing tides in the MLT region. As a result, a very agreement of mean zonal winds was discovered in MLT region between WINDâ…¡and HRDI both in space distribution and seasonal variation. The mainly difference was a system bias with a range of 20m/s, which could be explained by the swing of zonal wind diurnal tide in MET region according to previous research. Finally, a huge bias could be found from the comparisons of monthly mean zonal wind among CIRA-86 WINDâ…¡and HRDI when the altitude higher than 100kin. Moreover, the wind directions of the reference atmosphere CIRA-86 were not consistent with both WINDâ…¡and HRDI in the most of a year, to which one should be pay attention when using CIRA-86.
