Underwater skirt pile gripper was a kind of hydraulic gripper, widely applied in the construction of offshore oil platform. There're 4 skirt pile grippers in each platform, assisting the leveling task The technology was monopolized by overseas' companies for long. The researching subject rooted in the national 863 sub-project, Research of Maintaining Technology of Underwater Dry Pipeline. The development of underwater skirt pile gripper is a new researching field in China. It's important for the pile installing and reducing the cost of nautical engineering.The international and domestic construction of offshore oil platform is introduced. The international and domestic development of underwater skirt pile gripper is also introduced. The new researching contents of underwater skirt pile gripper are put up with.The feasible researching subject is put up with, and the mechanical noumenon of underwater skirt pile gripper is designed, according to the functions of underwater skirt pile gripper and the functions of the equipment. The annular frame and the check ring joint hydraulic cylinder of underwater skirt pile gripper are designed based on finite element analysis. Their strength and rigidity are well satisfied, and the weight is deduced.While the skirt pile gripper is working, the steel pile is destroyed by pressing block teeth. The strength and stability of steel pile are calculated basing on the thin hull theories, and then the invalidation style is analyzed. The pressing block tooth of underwater skirt pile gripper optimal design is also finished. The strength is satisfied, while the pressing block tooth is pressed into the steel pile.The hydraulic control system of underwater skirt pile gripper was designed. The main parameters of the driving source of the hydraulic system are ascertained. The hydraulic valve controlling system was researched, and the transfer function of controlling model is established. The main performance is imitating analyzed and revised.The three-dimension design of underwater skirt pile gripper is finished, and the complete model is assembled. The interference investigation is carried out. The foundation is established for later design and calculation.
