The study of variation in its light curve is expected to yield valuable information about its nature. 3C 273 has been known to be the brightest quasar and has rich observation materials. Although it has been subjected to extensive analysis, there is no generally accepted method of extracting the information in its light curve. Results of analysis of the light curve ranged from a multi-periodic behavior to a purely random process. In this paper, we use the techniques of state-space reconstruction and correlation integral to analyze the light curve of 3C 273 (Kunkel,1967) and find that its eccentric behavior may be a kind of chaotic behavior. This behavior seems random and unpredictable, but in fact it is not random behavior nor multi-periodic behavior. We also construct a simplified black hole-accretion disk model based on the standard black hole-accretion disk model to explain our results of data analysis qualitatively.
