In a road tunnel with incoming and outgoing branched and merged roads, it is a problem to control the air pollution in the tunnel, to which the tunnel constructors must pay great attention, especially in some long road tunnel, such as some tunnel across the river or hill. A prerequisite to solving the polluting problem is the ability to accurately represent the ventilation in the tunnel. Usually, the long tunnel should used some methods to reduce the pollution in tunnel; we must pay attention to whether these methods fit the tunnel or whether these methods are with great efficiency. In this article an engineering method is used to calculate the airflow of the branched and merged tunnel with some simple measure to control the pollution in them, analyses the different results caused by the different situation in tunnel. A diffuse equation is involved to describe the pollution distribution of these tunnels. The results show that the method is efficient. And a strategy is given to solve polluting problem of more complex road tunnel.
