With the development of PAGES, the paleo-climatic and paleo-environmentalreconstruction has become one of the most productive research projects. In this project, itis important to choose and study some geological records and climatic indicators. Peat isan important natural resource. There has many kinds of peat in our country and it is oneof the richest countries in the world. Peat geoscience has had a history of more than 40years since it is initiated in 1960, and has finished its formation stage as a discipline in1990, and is in the progress period since 1990 in China. The forming environmentcomparison between peat and coal, the green-house gas in the peatland, hydrology andmicrotopography in the peatland, the mechanism and periods of form-ing peat, peatstratum and research on the environmental changes taking peat as carrier of informationhave also been studied in the recent 10 years. A lot of work on the peatland protection hasbeen developed. The exchange and cooperation on the peat and peatland have made withBelarus, Japan, Malaysia, Canada, USA, Sweden, Ireland and some other countries, andwe have great achievement in application of peat and methods of research on peat.Wushan peat bog is in the north of Leizhou Peninsula., and it belongs to ZhanJiangcity, GuangDong province. The studied area reaches the north boundary of china'stropics, and it is affected by the monsoon climate.on the basis of different environmentproxies such as geochemical elements, preliminary research in Climate Changes during47-21kaB.P.,in the northern part of China's Tropics is made in this paper. The main resultsare given as follows:The climate and environment during 47-21kaB.P.had experienced a series ofcold-warm and dry-moisture changes.based on the interpretation of the proxies and regional comparison, this paper identifies 4 characteristic climate periods during47-21kaB.P..(1)During 47-40kaB.P, that is forepart of MIS3,the climatic condition waspredominated by warm and humid, and the climate fluctuation was stionary (2) During40-30ka.B.P.,that is metaphase of MIS3, and weather was wam and humid, and the climatefluctuation was evident.(3) During30-25kaB.P.,that is afternoon of MIS3, weather waswarm and humid, precipitation is plenty. (4) During 25-21kaB.P, that is LGM,it showedcold and warm climate condition.Through the comparison,we found our results are comparable with the GISP2values, climate information from sediment in the Huguangyan Maar Lake during thecorresponding period,it reflected climatic and environmental changes of the ZhanJiangArea are consisten tendency with the changes of other places in china and globemeanwhile, it also has its regional characteristics-the climate condition was predominatedby cold and dry during LGM,that was same to est of china, but was different from weastof china. In order to explore main causes and dynamic mechanism of climatic, the red noisespectra analysis from the proxy recorders is used to reveal the periodicities of its climaticchanges. it is found that the dominant periodicities are similar to the solar activityperiods, the climatic and environmental changes in ZhanJiang may closely associatedwith solar activity.on the other hand, orbital parameters of the Earth, monsoon activitymay relate to the climate changes.
