When we study on the dynamics of structure, it is very important to using new parameters capable of reflecting the system intrinsic characteristics, and nowadays that is hotspot in the domain of modal parameters identification, vibration control and dynamics of structure. The traditional methods get the dynamic characteristics by frequency response functions of power and response. It focus on different places of vibration system , just like the vibration information between spots. In another word, that way almost focus on the part of system rather than describing system on the whole , thus very little information vibration of system can be known .The response of the system is a reflection of dynamic characteristics for structure. From the response sequences which inspired in transient forces, we bring in the complexity algorithm proposed by Lempel and Ziv of complexity theory ,then array response time sequences of response spots on system in terms of time to form a whole sequence of vibration system ,and take that whole sequence as study object . We analysis the correlativity between structure damping, one dynamic parameters of unilateral-restricted plat board in practice and different movements of vibration system.The major processes mentioned in this paper are as follows:Firstly, it introduces the response analysis theory of vibration system, symbolization of response sequences and arithmetic of Lempel-Ziv complexity as well as its main character.Secondly, the method of complexity theory is validated by a unilateral-restricted plat board. We construct the whole sequence of vibration system, and deal with responses by complexity analysis . And the result is consistent with the result of complexity theory.Lastly, we obtain a group of finite element modals of the unilateral-restricted plat board on different structure damping .After dealing with responses of those modals by complexity analysis , the correlativity between structure damping and different movements of vibration system can be ascertained .The results show that the method of complexity theory based on distilling velocity response can not only reflect the intrinsic characteristics of vibration system ,but also provide a new way for damping identification of vibration system and vibration control as well as fault diagnosis.The method of response sequences of vibration which this paper puts forward is the extension of system sequences applied to space .Besides it is the primary attempt of combination of complexity theory and response analysis of vibration system.
