The sustainable development is one of the global and national developmentstrategies, at present. Mineral resources, as the basis of human survival, economic andsocial development, is also the basis for achieving sustainable development.Mineral resources development, which takes the mineral resources, naturalecological environment and economic and society as the basic elements, has formed amine environment system. Economy and society is the key to sustainabledevelopment for mine, mineral resources is a prerequisite and natural ecologicalenvironment is the survival condition. The object of study, "The Sustainable Development for Mine Environment of LalaCopper Mine (LCM), Sichuan Province" in this article, evaluating the sustainabledevelopment degree in the mining area, obtaining from the mining area systemstability, the system coordination and system development level, takes the mineralresources, environment, economy and society as the evaluating targets and builds upthe Lala Copper Mine sustainable development evaluation index system with 25indicators.Analytical hierarchy process and entropy weighting are used to weigh theindicators. Points out: mine system development level, whose weight is 0.6222, hasthe greatest weight. Among the 25 indicators, the production value per person(coefficient 0.2168) and funds benefit rate (coefficient 0.1084) have relatively largerweight.A multi-layer multi-objective fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is selected toevaluate the sustainable development degree for LCM. The results range from 0.0908to and 0.1602, being in traditional development stage. The results shows: mine socialstability' weight is 0. The economic growth rate for LCM is almost higher than thenational level, however, the investment for construction is less a half than the nationalaverage level. From 2000 to 2004, the sustainable development for LCM isuncoordinated. Especially, the contradiction between environment and economy is themost prominent. Mine level of sustainable development ranged from 0.0876 to 0.1486,still at the low level. Recycling for solid waste, labor productivity and Livingstandards of workers in mine were the most outstanding. However, seen from the mine development trend, during the 5 years, thesustainable development degree for LCM totally presents up-trend.
