Block "B" in Saudi Arabia is an exploration and development block bidden by SINOPEC in 2004, with poor exploration degree. By fully applied outcrop, drilling wells, logging and seismic data, and study for comparison of sequence stratigraphy division, lithofacies and seismic facies, sequence stratigraphy of Paleozoic, sedimentary systems and favorable plays were systemically studied. This study has an important reference value.Through the study of regional geology, analysis of depositional evolve and sequence development law, and taking "four-in-one, framework establishment, cyclic comparison, hierarchical controlling, serial mapping and integrated prediction" as a general research thought, 3â… -order sequences, 6â…¡-order sequences and 10â…¢-order sequences were identified preliminarily and 22 system tracts were divided in Block "B". In particular, it was put forward that main source rocks of Paleozoic were developed in TST of Silurian Qusaiba member, and it is first marine flooding period deposits which is distributed in hydrostatic environment of neritic shelf and bay, etc; cognition was corrected that source rocks were distributed continually and central depression were thickened. It was the first time to put forward that seven sedimentary systems exist in the study area, such as flooding plain, braided fluvial, delta, shore, tide fiat, glacier and continental shelf, and system tracts were mapped which indicate the paleogeomorphy of Paleozoic. Through the study of source-reservoir-seal assemblage, slope area in the two sides of central depression was predicted as a position with good deployment of reservoiring conditions, where is favorable area of exploration and prone to develop effective traps.
