Photogrammetry is a part of surveying. At present, it runs to digital photogrammetry. RS image interpretation and draughting runs to digital times, too.Terrain feature capture means using some methods to acquire some terrain features' coordinates and their elevations. And these information can be used to make up of DEM(digital elevation model).Traditionally, we can acquire the geospatial information of the terrain features in single image.But it is not enough to ascertain the terrain features'positions .So it must depend on DEM. When DEM includes some uncertain error or the terrain is very complex ,this method can't resolve.In order to improve the above method , we must get rid of DEM. So we research another method. This method bases on the principle of Photogrammetry, Using image matching, and making use of epipolar definition, through epipolar correlation, to find corresponding image points. At last compute the coordinate of terrain feature by space intersection. Matching precision and its reliability is very important for the second method.The article introduces the basic principle and main processes of this kind of method , analyzing the key tache in the existent problem, put forward the improvement measure, and come to a the anticipant result through experiment.
