On Technology Alienation From Confucianism

With human beings making great strides to nature, all values finally can be attributed to human values. Person's behavior and life style are directly determined by cultural viewpoints of society, the orientation of spiritual value. Practice has proved that Western culture characterized by technological ration can not resolve the problem of technology alienation. Thus, the target of thesis is that we reconsider the technology alienation from the angle of Confucian culture and weaken it by building a more rationally and efficiently cultural patterns to guide people's behavior.The first part is an introduction. The research topics include theoretical and practical significance; the introduction of results that domestic and foreign scholars have researched on this topic; the study methods and ideas. Since the western Industrial Revolution, human subjectivity, moral rationality and the orientation of values have emerged deviation. People start to explain the cultural confusion of tool ration and try hard to go out of this kind of difficult position from Eastern traditional culture, especially the Confucian culture.The second part is to elaborate the related concept of technology alienation. Mankind's dependence on technology strengthen, the development of technology brings survival crisis of human, the suppression of human nature and moral decline. Technology alienation is inevitable in the surface of Natural and human dimension, however, technology alienation is also weakened from a technical cooperation in terms of purpose.The third part is to reconsider technology alienation under the sight of western culture value. We inspect the values of Western culture including view of ration, scientific principle and individualism and respectively explain effect that the values are on technological alienation: ignoring the value of purpose, lack of respect for life, leading to the alienation of human nature.The fourth is the focus of papers discussed how Confucian culture response to technology alienation. Value principle of Confucian culture focus on pursue of truth, good and beauty; life principle is advantageous to harmony between human beings and Nature; paying attention to their personal moral cultivation which has prevented person's alienation. In order to weaken technology alienation, theoretically speaking, we must practice the integration of tool and value, the spirit and material, individual and society; however, from the point of view reality, the department of education should play an important role; the scientific and technical worker also should have the high social sense of responsibility, moreover, the national system and the policy design must also undertake corresponding function.The last is a simple summary and of this article. At present, the Western culture is still an absolute position and Confucian culture itself have also many problems, which intensify difficult of integration of two kind of culture. But in the context of globalization, it is a general trend that the East and West culture exchange each other. It is also an inevitable choice to eliminate difficult position of survival in culture.
