Ni80Fe20/Cu and Ni80Fe20/SiO2/Cu composite wires were prepared by RF magnetron sputtering system. In this thesis. The investigation of magnetic properties and giant magnetic impendence effect of wires are presented. The main results are listed as following.1. Ni80Fe20/Cu and Ni80Fe20/SiO2/Cu composite wires were prepared by using the RFmagnetron sputtering system.2. In order to obtain a uniform coating, a home-made spin system was utilized duringsputtering in the vacuum chamber. Hence, the spin speed is an important parameter to influence the MI effect in this kind of composite wires. MI effect was also studied on the wires sputtered one side and two sides.3. The coating thickness has great influence on soft magnetic properties of the wires. For the composite wires, to change the magnetic thickness is a good way to get a good MI effect except changing inner core diameter.4. The MI effect in the composite wires annealed by appropriate Joule heating wereinvested, the results showed the MI effect was not enhanced after annealed. The reason was analyzed.5. Ni80Fe20/SiO2/Cu composite wires were produced by RF magnetron sputtering andtheir MI effect was also invested. The results showed that the maximum MI ratio of these composite wires changed with the thickness of insulator layer. On the other hand, theoretical analysis on the GMI effect in composite wires was also studied according to the experimental results.
