Seismic method for metallic ore exploration in the deep-seated brink of the mine is a new and promising technique. The velocity of Seismic wave propagation is one of the most important parameters. In search for layers of sediment such as oilfield and coalfield, we usually make use of well logging to attain the velocity. The cost is too high for metallic ore exploration in the deep-seated brink of the mine to afford. The thesis mainly uses the theories of earthquake location approach to calculate the velocity.Basing on the theories of earthquake location, we put numbers of detectors on the ground in geometric forms in design. When the rendrock blow up, the detectors will receive the seismic wave. The first scheme for the method is assuming that the seismic wave is traveling in a rock medium at a constant velocity, and put a lot of detectors on the ground to minish the error cause of the unconstant traveling velocity in the medium; secondly choose one trace to supply references, calculate the correlation between one trace and the next one to attain the time difference. Using the first arrival time, give the traveling time conditional equation. There are two parts in the solution of the conditional equation: first, make the traveling time conditional equation into linear equation; second, process for iterative solution of the conditional equation by singular value decomposition.The thesis mainly includes the explosion epicenter model, seismic wave radial track, the theories of earthquake location approach to calculate the space-time parameters and velocity, and the effect made by the detectors'location; also gives several simple geometric forms in design, discuss the forward theory and the inversion theory in detail. Processing the practical data, in the way of using the different subsection of the data, the altitude is known or not, and the different window of the correlation. As a result, these factors above all have effects on the calculation of the velocity. When the factors change, the value of velocity changes.
