Morphological Studies Of Heamocytes Of Scallops, Chlamys Farreri And Argopecten Irradians

The morphological characterization and of hoemocytes of Chlamys farreri and Argopecten irradians were studied by histological and histochemical methods in this paper. Light and electron microscopical studies were carried out in order to characterize the haemocytes of the Chlamys farreri and Argopecten irradians. According to cytoplasm characters,three types of haemocytes were recognized. Two kinds of haemocytes are found in Argopecten irradians , they are agranular haemocyte and lack agranular haemocyte.Typeâ… is lymphoid haemocyte. The lymphoid haemocyte is round or oval, shows high nucleus ratio. The nucleus are round or oval and they are in the middle or the verge of the cell. The number of the typeâ…¡haemocyte is large and rich organelles are found in its cytoplasm. This type haemocyte is amoeboicyte,shows high nucleus ratio.The typeâ…¢haemocyte is the main cell type, a few organelles are found.Three types of heamocytes are observed by scanning electron microscopy:the round cell, the oval cell and the cone-shaped cell.These three types of heamocytes are homologous with typeâ… ,typeâ…¡and typeâ…¢according to proportion.Three types of heamocytes are observed by transmission electron microscopy : type A,type B and type C.These three types of heamocytes are also homologous with typeâ… ,typeâ…¢, typeâ…¡according to proportion. There is great difference between Chlamys farreri and Argopecten irradians of type C. It is type C of Chlamys farreri. Rich organelles and high electron-dense granules are found in its cytoplasm.The structure of type C of Argopecten irradians is special,the quantity of organelles is the least and the electron-dense granules is low,the number of lysosome is more than the other organelles, the irregular structure of endomembrane is found in the cytoplasm.
