| China, facing the severe water resource problem, is one of the poor countries of water resource. The water resource amount owned every person is only about 1/4 of the average level in the world. The overall situation of the water resource of our country is a lot of domestic large water bodies have mostly been polluted. The wasting phenomenon of water resource is serious. The overall level of the efficiency of water for industrial use is relatively low; many research institutes and numerous enterprise such as petrochemical factory, steel mill are required urgently to develop and to utilize new technology to solve problems of water resource shortage at present. Utilizing the non-traditional water resource, i.e. Seawater, sanitary sewage and industrial wastewater become common research directions.The desalinization of seawater becomes a new direction of water treatment trade. Utilizing membrane technology to treat seawater as a water resource that can be developed and already become the new subject for numerous researchers. The domestic and international current situation of membrane technology applied to seawater desalinization was reviewed in this paper.
