Plant allelopathy is commonly defined as any direct or indirect effects (stimulation or inhibitory)by one plant on another through production of chemical compounds that escape into environment . In recent years, allelopathy is a foreland of new researches, the theory and practice on which can bring sustaining development in agriculture or forest and help to protect natural resources. Eucalyptus grandis which grows fast and has fine fabric, is originated in east inshore of Australia and widely used to bring high economic benefits. It was introduced into China about 20 years ago, and has been an important man-made forest seed in Sichuan Province. Allelopathic substance is the foundation of studying functional mechanism of allelopathy. In this research, allelopathics of some Eucalyptus grandis in Sichuan Province have been ultrasonically extracted and steam-distilled , and have been analyzed and identified with gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer (GC-MS) , and in the end allelopathy has been preliminary studied. The results from the research areas follows:1. In this experiment, the root of Eucalyptus grandis has been naturally, ultrasonically and continuously extracted with hexane. The result through analysis shows: extracts of roots obtained in 3 different ways contain 48 organic compounds belonging to 11 different categories, including alkanes, alkenes, arenes, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, a anthracenedione, a terpene, a alkenoate, arenoates and compounds containing nitrogen, but in the three different extracts, the allelopathic compounds are quite...
