These experiments were carried out to clarify the kinds, the best concentration of the cryoprotectant, which has no or little toxicity to embryos, as well as the suitable stage of embryo development by studying on the toxicity and vitrification of the rabbit, so that offered theory base for the application of rabbit embryos cryopreservation by vitrification.1. The survival rates of rabbit early blastocyst treated with trehalose and sucrose were 93.8% and 70.0%, respectively. The groups treated with trehalose were significantly higher than those that treated with sucrose (P<0.05).2. The survival rates of rabbit early blastocyst, which added 0.5mol/L trehalose to 0.0mol/L(control), 2.0mol/L, 2.5mol/L and 3.0mol/L glycerol, were 83.9%, 86.7%, 93.8% and 83.3%, respectively. There were not significantly different between controls and others (P>0.05).3. The survival rates of rabbit early blastocyst and morula were 93.8% and 63.3%, respectively, when the glycerol was 2.5M. The survival rats of early blastocyst groups were significantly higher than the morula groups (P<0.01).4. In the experiment of studying on the frozen effects on rabbit embryos treated with different concentrations of ethylene glycol (EG), the normal embryo numbers and the survival rates of incubated blastocyst were not significantly different between the control groups, 10%EG groups and 20%EG groups(P>0.05), after thawing. But all of groups were significantly higher than 30%EG groups (P<0.05).5. In the experiment of the frozen effects on rabbit embryos in vivo and in vitro, the normal embryos were 79.4% and 54.1%, respectively, after thawing; the survival rates of incubated blastocyst were 38.2% and 24.3%. The in vivo groups were significantly higher than the in vitro groups (P<0.05). There were not significantly different on the survival rates of incubated blastocyst (P>0.05).6. In the experiment of researching the frozen effects on rabbit embryos treated with...
