A reasonable and reliable Finite Element Model is significant to the results of dynamic structure. Verifying the uncertain parameters of analytical model not only has academic value, but also be crucial to engineering. The traditional methods always focus on the frequency domain, for instance, by the comparisons of natural frequency or principal mode shape. However, this method not only has some deficiencies but also has very large workload to do.We take the response sequences which inspired in transient forces as study object, use the mutual information method based on the meaning of probability to compare the response which produced by the actual structure and analytical model, and then to verify the correlativity of dynamic analytical model. In order to ascertain the uncertain parameters and the structural damping parameters for the analytical model, the method of average mutual information based on 0-1 time series and the method of mutual information based on statistical amplitude of vibration were put forward.The major work done in this paper as follows:Firstly, it introduces the Finite Element Method and the technique of dynamic testing, as well as how to achieve the correlativity of analytical model by mutual information method.Secondly, the method of average mutual information based on 0-1 time series was validated by a "T" board, on which the material parameters of the analytical model were updated, and the result were consistent with the result of modal correlativity method. Besides, the method of mutual information based on statistical amplitude was researched for damping parameter.Finally, this method was applied in a node of steel roof structure with welding line to ascertain the uncertain material parameters and the structural damping parameters.
