The soft X-ray transmission grating spectrometer has been the core instrument in ICF experiments, it has been used in the fields of hohlraum physics, X-ray radiation transportation, radiation ablation, and so on. Recently, The soft X-ray transmission grating spectroscopy has been confused by many problems, such as the diffraction pattern is difficult to be described, the diffraction efficiency is uncertainty, high order diffractions are inevitably exist, and so on.Based theoretical work on diffraction pattern of transmission grating, a proposal to substitute the rectangular window grating with a cosine window sine transmission grating is suggested by Doctor L.F.Cao who works in China Academy Engineering Physics. The novel optics element gives ideal diffraction pattern for transmission grating spectroscopy: no high order diffraction, no subordination diffraction maximum, and the main diffraction maximum take ideal smooth shape. The optics element takes great benefit to improve the precision and S/N ratio of transmission grating spectroscopy.A concept of soft X-ray spectroscopy photon sieve is also suggested which it affords a practical way to fabricate the novel diffraction optics cosine window sine transmission grating. Developing and using the new concept diffraction optics will solve the key problem (distortion from high order diffraction) of the present transmission grating spectroscopy and effectively improve the precision of soft X-ray spectroscopy in laser plasma diagnosis.On the basis of theoretical work, the VC++ was adopted to develop the numerical analysis program for diffraction pattern of photon sieve.
