Objectives: To implement the laboratory animalization of Tibet minipig, we investigated the biological traits such as growth, propagation, physiological, biochemical indexes of blood and karyotype of Tibet minipigs which has been climatized in Guangzhou. Methods: 42 Tibet minipigs (male: 50%; female: 50%) were introduced to Guangzhou from Tibet in China. During climatization, the performances of propagation, i.e., sexual behavior of the male pig, pregnancy and animal number of litter, were observed. The following data were obtained: respiratory frequency, heart rhythm, physiological and biochemical indexes of blood measured by full automatic biochemistry analyzer and haematimeter, electrocardiogram inspected with electrocardiograph, recta temperature measured using veterinary clinical thermometer and karyotype observed through peripheral blood lymphocyte culture. The development processes of the liver, gall, kidney and embryo were traced through the ultra-sound scanner.Results:① Body temperature, respiratory frequency and heart rhythm The mean body temperature, respiratory frequency and heart rhythm of Tibet minipig were 38.96±0.60°C, 27.90±9.07 per minute and 104.33±28.27 per minute at the age of 6 months, and 38.03±0.93°C, 28.17±5.62per minute and 96.00±5.66 per minute at the age of 12 months, respectively. The mean body temperature, respiratory frequency and heart rhythm were 38.05±1.02°C, 30.42±8.90 per minute and 103.20±32.02 per minute for the female, and 38.53±0.81℃, 25.52±6.71 per minute...
