The paper Studies on typical thin interbedded sand reservoir Fault block Shen 67 to generalize the residual oil distribution regulation and measures to develop the potential reserves for this kind of reservoir. In this study, the reservoir lithology, physical property and oil bearing parameter are accurately defined through the multi-well data processing and evaluation first, based on the standardized logging data of the whole oil field, then the reservoir classifiin order to improve the reservoir interpretation accuracy. Moreover, based on analytical test and production performances, reservoir percolating path and pore texture change are analyzed so as to predict the big channels in the reservoir, which is used for adjusting the injection–production relationship. Depending on the advanced GOCAD reservoir 3D model build up software system, 3D simulation model is established, which reflects the 3D heterogeneity of the reservoir spaces, so the reservoir parameter variation regulation between the wells and residual oil distribution regulation can be accurately predicted, which played an active role in adjusting the production in the mid-late development stage of oil field,In the study, some new perspectives of reservoir discriptiion and development adjusting have been developed, which suits for the thin interbed sand reservoir.(1) The new perspectives on vertical and lateral analysis of the thin interbed sand reservoir(2)Study on the reservoir starting with the sedimentation origin by application of subdivision of sedimentation facies(3)The new point of view of different scale of reservoir probability facies and its research technology(4)The overall reservoir numerical simulation technology based on the 3D model(5)Phase controlling water injection, unit conformityThrough many years of development, the oilfield has entered the high water cut development stage. In order to ensure the long term and stable production in the oilfield, apart from adjusting of the main producing formation, the thin and poor oil zones, infilling well pattern and adjusting should be done in the contingent reservoirs and difficult developing reservoirs for secondary recovery in the oilfield.
