Research On Application Of CBR In GIS

The research of knowledge engineering has always been one of the fronts of the computer theory and application research. But the bottleneck of knowledge acquisition cumbers the research progress of AI researcher. CBR (Case Based Reasoning) can solve this problem with better results and is widely applied to various fields of problem solving. The prospect of the application is very well.Cass Based Reasoning System is a very important machine learning method. To explain a new object case, CBR system lookup original case in the case base in order to find a old case which is the most similar to the new object base. GIS (Geographic Information System) was developed from 1960s'. It integrates the data collection, storage,management and analysis. It can describe the information of earth surface (including aerosphere) and the spatial information of space and geography distribution.GIS, as a new geography tool, is famous for its powerful space analysis ability. But, as we know, because of the complexity of the geography problems, it is difficult to construct a assured model to predict geography phenomena. Also, with the development of computer technology and social demand, GIS technology is going up and the range of its application are widening continuously. People not only want GIS to show map simply and to make map automatically , but also want GIS to give people something to support decision.Considering the fineness ability to solve the half-structured and non-structured problem of the CBR system, the thesis discusses the structure of the CBR-Based GIS system. It presents how to construct geo-case, how to explain a geo-case and how to reason it in its own case-space. In this thesis, the improved-Tesseral method has been applied to express attribute information and case-space reasoning.In the research of application, the subsystem of 'Digital HeFei' has been developed.
