Snow is natural factor with multiple attributes on the ground, which arouse the attention of the many experts; especially in some high-altitude mountainous area of the western China, the snowmelt water plays an important role in reasonable use of the water resources. To the reservoirs and the water power stations, snowmelt water is the primary storing source and take an important part in controlling the quantity of the water in reservoirs and reasonably arranging the water used in industry, agriculture and living. The oasis in the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain is the most important economic exploitation region in Sinkiang Province and its water source comes principally from the runoff in mountainous area of the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain. Spring is the low water season. Snowmelt water is the important water source that can release the drought, but there will be flood if the snowmelt water cause spring flood. So doing research on the rule of the snowmelt generation in the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain has great meaning for developing, using, managing water resources and economical building in this area.This thesis takes Juntanghu River in the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain as experimental basin, making deep researches and analyses on application of fractals and chaos theory to analyze the spatial distribution of water system. Studying the characteristic of the water system on research area and the runoff of the different years and the daily runoff of the three years. The conclusion of the paper testified the spatial distribution of the river has deeply influenced runoff on the river, especially daily numbers of the runoff. The paper proved the results of the applying the two ways on the river is consentaneous, from different point of view to find out the character of the river, and the prediction is gotten about the seriate years.By this method, the new subject of fractal and chaos theory can be more...
