Capillary electrochromatography(CEC) is a novel effective separation technique. It is more and more popular for its tremendous potential development capability. The preparation of CEC column play the most important role in analyzing of CEC. Dendrimer is a kind of new-type function macromolecular compound that it is set out by multi-functional base kernels, growing repeatedly outwards. With its three-dimensional structure, it can be designed the size, shape and functional group at the molecule level. Based on former research, the polyamidoamine star-burst dendrimers(PAMAM) were bonded to the interior wall of silica capillaries through alkylation reaction with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, the Michael addition reation with methylarylate and animation reaction with athylenediaine were utilized. The open-tube CEC columns modified with different generation of PAMAM were obtained by repeating the reaction steps.
