The anatomical structures, flora morphogenesis and embryology of Souliea which is a monotypic genus of Ranunculaceae and endemic to East Asia, were described in the present paper. We attempted to supply some new features on the determination of the systematic position of Souliea in Ranunculaceae. 1. Anatomical Structures of SoulieaRoot: root tip is consisted of initial cells of calyptrogen, periblem and plerome; the root with trirchy, tetrarchy primary xylem. Without secondary structures in root.Stem: The secondary structures is similary to the primary structures in stem, Only the vascular arranged is difference. The active is patency of vascular cambium in secondary structures. The vessel elements and their perforation plates in the secondary xylem of stem of the species were observed. The results showed that the reticulate (ephedroid), scalariform, reticulate-scalariform, reticulate-scalariform-simple, andscalariform-simple perforation plates of the vessel elements were found for the first time in Ranunculaceae. The multi-perforation plate of the end-wall and the lateral-wall perforation plates have been observed and the pit membrane remnants in the different perforation plates were also described.Node: The node is trilacunar and 3-traced.The stomata of leaves are anomocytic type. The vascular bundles of the petiole are arranged in circle. Epidermis hair on the upper epidermis.
