The atmospheric aerosols play an important role in earth radiation balance. Aerosols directly influence the climate by scattering solar radiations back to space and absorbing solar radiations, also indirectly influence the cloud forming and microphysics. For the Influence of Asian continent, there exist multi-source aerosols in East China Sea, which is the main transportation channel from Asia to Northwest Pacific Ocean. So the source and transportation process of aerosol can be exactly confirmed by developing the research on its temporal and special characteristics. The physical and chemical characteristics of aerosol over Asia especially in East China Sea and the influence on climate and environment has been one of the most important issues in the research on atmospheric science in recent years. The main work of this dissertation is implementing the aerosol retrieval algorithm over East China Sea. The main research results are presented as follows:1) Aerosol optical depth and Angstrom exponent over East China Sea are retrieved by Two-Channel Aerosol Retrieval Algorithm and IMAPP respectively. The retrieved aerosol optical depth and ground truth data obtained from AERONET measurements are collocated to evaluate the quality of the former, and confirming the feasibility and reliability of the two methods in the wide ocean.2) Comparing the retrieved aerosol optical depth by the two methods with ground truth data obtained from AERONET measurements in Seoul_SNU, Osaka and the area of East China Sea. The results indicate that, the two methods consist with each other in wide ocean.3) The aerosol optical depth and Angstrom exponent retrieved by the two methods, the backward trajectories analysis of air mass, and the image from MODIS are analyzed, the results show that the derived aerosol optical depth is in consistent with each other in the East Sea and the sea south to Japan, but too high in the coast of Bohai and Huanghai, because of the influence of Case 2 water.4) The Two-Channel Aerosol Retrieval Algorithm and IMAPP are based on the global distribution of aerosols, and could not reflect the quick levity of temporal and special characteristics of aerosols over East China Sea. because of the calculation complexity of Case 2 water in Bohai and some area of Huanghai, it will bring large error in the retrieval, so the retrieved results should be improved. And the characteristics of East China Sea are analyzed, which provide the basic data for retrieval method over East China Sea.
