A series of communities in different succession stage stand in the Tiantong National Forest Park of Zhejiang Province. On the basis of former studies, we investigate the resprouting phenomenon in those communities. We mostly use random sampling method and standard arbors sampling method when we do the investigation. Furtherly. the study for the feature of resprouting community secondary succession and the difference of seeding regeneration secondary succession are discussed and analysed. The principally researched results are as follows:(1)After first cutting,when the number of resprouting is looked as the principal standard,the speed for growth and the rate of resprouting are looked as minor factor,the dimensions for resprouting ability of several predominant tree species is Schima superba >Caslanopsis fargesii >Castanopsis carlesii > Lithocarpus glaber > Liquidambar formosana > Quercus fabric > Castanopsis sclerophylla,the dimensions for resprouting ability of several shrub species is Symplocos sumuntia > Rhododendron ovatum >Camellia fraterna>Eurya rubiginosa var.attenuata.(2)The effect is about resprouting ability for several dominants after frequent cutting.The effect is mainly showed on small stump, but no effect practically on great stump.Among the tree species,the effect to Castanopsis fargesii is the biggest,and the effect to Schima superba'is the smallest,and the effect to Liquidambar formosana and Castanopsis sclerophylla is between them.In two shrub species,the effect to Eurya rubiginosa var.attenuata is bigger,but it is small to Symplocos sumuntia.(3)The feature of secondary succession is about resprouting community. Most communities are disturbed by the human's activity in Tiantong.They are mostly the new formed communities after cutting. Because the disturbed time,the intensity and the frequency are all different,the succession degree for different community is different.The secondary succession of resprouting regeneration is different to the seeding regeneration. The feature of resprouting secondary succession is: the succession speed is quicker, the succession time is shorter, several key dominants remain stability, the change for species is small, species richness is lower.(4)The discussion is about mechanism of succession of resprouting secondarysuccession. Resprouting secondary succession is similar to the initial floristic composition hypothesis on mechanism of succession; but there are differences.The accurate way for succession is difficult to predict in the initial floristic composition hypothesis.On the other hand; the initial floristic composition hypothesis aims for the seeding regeneration.Other hypothesis can illuminate a part of resprouting secondary succession. Resource ratio hypothesis can illuminate the retain for the climax-species. C-S hypothesis can illuminate the competition between resprouting spots.But these hypothesis can not illuminate resprouting secondary succession totally.Thereby;we can say resprouting secondary succession is a new succession model which is different to the existed theory of succession probably.
