The study of clusters which involves with many research fields begins from the 1970s , and it not only is a crossover of physics and chemistry, but also is a new origination of material science. Preparation of namo-material bases on preparation, measurement, decoration and assemblage of clusters. In the past decade, cluster science has brought tremendous advances in the study of weak bond clusters, especially hydrogen-bonded clusters. The hydrogen bond is a weak chemical interaction that plays a significant role in many areas of chemistry. Many phenomena such as solvation, energy transfer and chemical reactions are influenced by the hydrogen bond, especially there are a large amount of hydrogen bond in biological molecules. And proton transfer reactions via the hydrogen bond play an important role in life science. Investigations of hydrogen bonded clusters provide insight into the process and mechanism of proton transfer. The thesis studied MPI of methanol (ethanol) and water clusters using conventional time of flight mass spectrometers. The studies of MPI-MS (methanol and water) indicated, the products of ionization were protonated cluster ions, which were produced from the proton transfer reactions in the binary clusters. The influence of laser delay and carried gas is different to signal intensity of cluster ions, laser delay influenced the properties of the signal intensity curves and the pressure of carried gas affected the intensities of signal. Dependence of ionization signal on laser intensity indicated ionization of clusters required 4 photons of 355nm. This dissertation also presented the detailed results about the studies of the MPI of hydrogen-bonded clusters (ethanol and water), which were performed by using Gaussian 98. Experiment results are accorded with theory.
