Since Hertz worked out the solution to contact in tribology, the theories in tribology has been greatly developed, with the rapid development of computer simulation technology, especially the latest achievement of CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) simulation techniques, the requirement of studying accurately tribological properties and reliability of machinery is higher and higher. Therefore, the tribology simulation has received considerable attention and many researchers have already focused on it. The traditional friction and wear testing methods of analyzing engineering materials can gain good results to some extent. However, it is complex and time consuming to use traditional testing methods. Furthermore, the experimental results of one tribo-system aren't suitable for another tribo-system. Nowadays, the burdensome experimental work can be replaced partly or fully by tribology simulation with the support of computer simulation technology. Through setting up the appropriate simulation wear model, the parameters of model may be simulated exactly. Accordingly, the wear condition of wear components can be predicted in advance. Moreover, it is available to realize selecting appropriate materials, matching optimal materials, optimizing design of wear components and extending the life of wear components using tribology simulation.In this paper, based on contact mechanics and computation mechanics, the classic Pin-on-Disc wear testing is simulated by finite element method, and the stress distribution and deformation condition where the contact occurs is also simulated. Moreover, with a comparison analysis of computer simulation and reference data, the contact stress and the wear volume are simulated under different contact conditions. The main tasks of the present paper are as follows:1) Contact mechanics and computation mechanics are adopted to deduce the contact calculation model. According to this model, the contact stress simulation is conducted with computer programs. Furthermore, the contact deformation condition and the contact stress distribution of Pin-on-Disc wear model are simulated using FEAP finite element analysis program. Then, the stressdistribution could forecast the life of the wear model.2) With the characteristics of the classic wear test's results and the Archard model, calculation model is established and this wear calculation model of Pin-on-Disc wear test is simulated in the process of wear. And the parameters of the wear model are revised with a comparison analysis of computer simulation result and reference data.3) The software platform of wear simulation program is established using FEAP finite element analysis program, which other finite element analysis programs can use for reference about wear model calculation. The main tasks of this simulation program are to calculate the wear volume under the dry friction about different conditions.
