Ordus Basin locates in the east of Chinese northwest. There are abundant undergroundresources. So it is the important base of energy sources and chemistry industry in the 21stcentury. But the basin locates in arid-semiarid zone of China, and there is a shortage ofwater resource. The requirements of water will argument along with the development ofsociety and economy. So comprehensive study and analysis on the regional water resourcesare basic work of regional development of society and economy.Land evaporation is important component part of water balance. Land evaporation inOrdus Basin is more than 60% of underground water's discharge, so it is very importantfactor in assessment of water balance in the region always. So calculation of the landevaporation of the basin and study on the influencing factor are important content in theassessment of water, and also provide basis for taking measurement for reducing invalidevaporation and protecting water resources. In recent years, calculation of evaporationusing remote-sensing method has gained quiet great progress along with the developmentof remote-sensing technology. Investigators advance some computation module. SEBS(Surface Energy Balance System)module is advanced by the Netherlandish scholar Su Z.In this paper we introduce the SEBS module to calculate the evapotranspiration. It is drought and of water stress in the region, so vegetation's percentage of coverage islow, and ecological environment is fragile. Vegetation is an important index mark ofecological environment, so determination of evolutional rule and influencing factor is ofimportant meaning for the study and harnessing of this region's ecological environment.Type of vegetation and its state of growth in arid zone are result of aquosity of soil, andalso have some control action on evaporation of soil water on the contrary. So study on thecharacteristic of vegetation's change can become to an important content of waterresources assessment. Commercial scale quantitative monitoring of dynamic of plant coverusing remote-sensing technology is economic, timesaving, labour saving. In this paper weanalyses the evolution situation of plant using MODIS data.
