The chemical constituents of the sponge Callyspongia fibrosa and the sponge Ircinia aruensis collected from the South China Sea were studied in the paper.Seven compounds have been isolated and identified from the spong Callyspongia fibrosa. The stereo structure of compound 4 was established by X-ray diffract analysis. These compounds were isolated from this sponge for the first time. Seven compounds have been isolated from the sponge Ircinia aruensi. Compound 8 and 9 and 10 have been identified . Compound 8 composed of a penacyclic triterpenoid with the hopane skelon linked to a polyhydroxylated C5 chain. This kind of compounds is rare in marine biology.Eight compounds isolated from the sponge Callyspongia fibrosa were established as 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (2);3-octadecyloxy-propane-1,2-diol (3); Dibromophakellin (4); 5-methylpyrimidine-2,4 (1H,3H)-dione (5); pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione(6); 1-(tetrahydro -4-hydroxy-5- (hydroxymethyl) furan-2-yl) -5-methyl pyrimidine -2,4 (1H,3H)-dione(7) by UV, IR,1H NMR,13C-NMR,1H-1HCOSY,HMQC,HMBC,EIMS,HRMS.The absolute configuration of compound 4 was established by single-crystalX-ray diffraction experiments and polarimetric analysis. The crystal belongs to monoclinic system, space group P21 a =7.646(1) A, b = 28.050(6) A, c =7.670(1) A, V = 1443.5(5) A 3. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined to R =0.0365 and wR =0.0624, S =0.803. The maximum and minimum peaks in the final difference Fourier map are 0.287 e A -3 and -0.434 e A -3.Compound 8 and 9 and 10 isolated from the sponge Ircinia aruensis were established as (32R,33S,34S) -32,35-Anhydrobacteriohpanetetrol(8), nonadecanamid e (9), 1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde(10).
