fault sealing is a very complex question in geology ,it is restricted by geologic factors such as mechanics category, status of stress due to fault , fault's shear zonation etc .The reason of we research the fault sealing of oil and gas fields is to open out the influence of many restricted condition on fault sealing, which avails exploration and exploitation of oil and gas.The paper sums up the study headway of fault sealing in the domestic and foreign and summarizes principle and mechanism of fault sealing and influence factors .considering the two factors of fault--lateral and vertical ,we use thrice spline interpolation and fitting in method of least squares to analyse quantitative fault sealing.In the course of research on fault sealing , In the paper ,firstly, we analyse stress status on fault section, on the base of which, we build mathematics patterns of stress。 Secondly we build mathematics patterns of shaliness in the fractures zonation on the base of argillaceous smearing on the fault section . Thirdly, we programme on mathematics patterns under the circumstances of MATLAB6.5.
