The technology of linear information extraction is one of the important research branch in current remote sensing application study area.Based on the previous articles sand researching achievements,by contrast with the extracted lineaments and existent geological data,we found that the results of the extraction is successful.Meanwhile,we statistically analysed the lineament,the aim of the research is trying to provide reference to the further research in this area. The main content of this thesis is:studied using computer to extract the linear information,and satatistically analysis the lineaments.Using hough transformation extracted the linear information from a binary image,and use methods of satatistic analysis on lineament. There were some people who studied lineament information extraction taking advantage of Hough trallsformation,which looks for lineament from image by two transformation in two space.After studied lots of articles and data, actualized hough trasformation on Matlab7.0 platform,so that we could directly process image. It is clear that each method has its own merits and drawbacks.In the information extraction,some information is ignored.For this,there are two main reasons:Firstly,when color remote sensing image are transformed to binary image,some effective information is lost.Secondly,for lineament information extraction,it doesn't have a good balance between threshold value and reducing workload.Through the comparision the results of visual interpretation and geological data with processing results,we can found:most of the linear structures are extracted which proved that the methods used in this thesis are efficient and pracitical. In addition,,the author interpreted the TM image of Kangguertage area,extrcted the lineament,statistically analysed the lineament.Through the comparison of image and existent geological data,we found the extracted lineament have same attitudes and positions.That is, extracttion structural information in remote sensing imag is an effective,economic and fast methode..
