Over the past several years, the process of collisional energy transfer has been extensively studied in alkali-metal vapors. We can obtain a lot of information about interactional potential between atoms or atoms and molecules by measuring rate coefficients and cross sections. In this thesis we obtain values for predissociation, radiative, and collisional depopulation rates of part excited states of sodium and cesium by the technique of laser induce fluorescence spectroscopy and free-Doppler high resolution two photon laser spectroscopy. The REP processes between highly excited atoms and ground atoms are also discussed. The whole thesis consists of three parts: In the foreword, we can learn the meaning, the background, current situations and main research work about the collision between atom and molecule and the spectroscopic study, and have a simple introduction about the possible applications of them. In the text, we introduce some theories about collision between atom and molecule, experiment techniques, a set of experiment apparatus and detect devices for researching collisional energy transfer, and three experimental studies. In the brief summary, we draw a conclusion and introduce practical applications of experimental studies. Through three experimental studies, we obtain ratios of collisional rate coefficient to predissociation rates of Cs2 molecules, ratios of the dissociation rates produced in 72P,62D fine-structure states of Cs atoms, the cross section of REP processes; the rate coefficient for collisional energy transfer from Na2(B1Πu)...
