The study of the interaction of material with light is always important way in physics. In special, the interaction of atoms and molecules with light discloses a lot of basic information on material structure. In this paper, a beam of 283.389nm UV laser is used to excite the Pb atoms in heat pipe. We investigate the properties of fluorescence at 723.1nm, 405.897nm and 364.061nm, and also SERS whose wavelength varies nearby 405.897nm with pump laser wavelength. Through their spectrum, we get their characters at different atomic densities and different pump laser intensities. The spatial distribution pictures of the forwards direction's radiation of all the fluorescence and SERS are collected with CCD camera, and are simply analyzed. There is a dip about SERS at the resonance and the reason is analyzed. The paper enriches the experimental result about the fluorescence and SERS of atomic Pb system.
