The concept of interval-valued fuzzy sets is an extension of Zadeh's fuzzy sets. In recent years, many researchers are interested in interval-valued fuzzy sets. The main reason is that, in practice, the interval-valued membership degree of a element in a universe can be determined more easily than point-valued membership degree; The interval-valued results obtained in handling information can effectively reflect the ruzziness and uncertainty of the fact; And the interval-valued fuzzy sets can also reduce the loss of fuzzy information. Recently, many researchers have discussed the fundamental theory of the interval-valued fuzzy sets and have obtained lots of meaningful results. In application, interval-valued fuzzy sets have been applied to lots of fields such as artificial intelligence, decision-making analysis, pattern recognition, handling intelligence information and so on. In this paper, we will study the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation problem based on interval-valued fuzzy sets. Firstly, we review the concept of interval-valued fuzzy sets, the basic operations and membership principle of the interval-valued fuzzy sets, and sum up the ranking interval problems in literatures. We also introduce the methods for determining the membership degrees and weights. We first construct the level 2 interval-valued model for fuzzy comprehensive evaluation on the basis of the level 1 interval-valued model.This new model suits the case of multi-factors with evener weights. Finally, we successfully apply this model to the calculation problem for the Chinese composition grade of test paper. This calculation method has the following advantages:1 .Adopting the unified ten-cent system can make the evaluator of the test paper grasp standards of grading easily;2.According to the requirement of composition type, we can adjust weight at any time;3.According to the total mark, we can adjust the mark of each grade;4.This model of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation may be applied to other fields;5.At present, due to the high popularity of computer, this kind of method of calculating grade can be realized very easily.
