This paper main uses the ATR (Automatic Target Recognition) function of the TCA2003 series Total Station, develop automatic distortion monitoring system under the twice developing environment of GEOCOM which is brought by the Switzerland Leica company .It uses the computer to control the automatic surveying work instead of the manual work. It main places the emphasis on the data communication, data transmission and post-process adjustment etc field. In the process of the survey, we use the model of polar coordinates multi-time difference correction to dispose the data and we also analyse the principle of the Total Station's ATR function. It discuss the way to deal with the survey data after the survey, brings out the average clearance way to check up the datum mark's stability. The coordinate diversion way is used to unify reference frame on condition of the station is unstable. The adjustment is used to deal with the data after the survey, it main advances the survey precision when there is no redundant observation value. This way can correct the distortion point correctly on the way of near the atmosphere refraction modulus to heighten the precision of the distortion point's value. It develops a series of modules using the Visual Basic language to realize these functions. It places an important role in the work which has been done in the atrocious weather or long time and some repeated distortion monitoring work. The experiment proved that it's precision can satisfy the common engineering survey, it plays an important role in fact.
