The multi-techniques air drilling was used in hydrologic drilling firstly in fifties in nineteen century, when this way had been used successfully in Europe and Russian. In the early sixties, some departments such as metallurgic industry, coal industry, nucleus and petroleum made experiments about the multi-techniques air drilling technology, for example, the electricity design academy in northwest has drilled in Karst region,and the metallurgic department also has made experiments that show the reliability of air drilling. Because the equipment and machine tool do not match to techniques, the method was not be used widely. In the end of seventies, the exchange between foreigners is more and more frequent, in the recent years, with the development of equipment, machine tool and techniques, the application of multi-techniques air drilling technology is more and more widely. The multi-techniques air drilling technology is not introduced in hydro geological drilling in WengteniuQi, Chifeng area. So it is very important to introduce, apply and study the technology during exploiting groundwater. In order to summarize the regulars of multi-techniques air drilling technology in hydrogeology in this district, we have been worked in this district for years. On the basis of the resume about hydrogeology, tectonic and land form and the discuss on multi-techniques air drilling technology, the first choice air drilling method when dill in different morphologic unit was interpreted. Through the interpretation in detail several air drilling methods frequently used, the advantage and disadvantage, attention and processing method of bore trouble especially the drilling characteristics of oval gravel band, bedrock fracture zone and clay band were summarized. All those are the basic of the study and application henceforward. There are five chapters in this paper: Introduction, sweeping statement of study area, survey and summation of multi-techniques air drilling technology, typical application example and conclusions. The statements below are the main contents and conclusions. In the first part, the basic condition such as land form, water-bearing tectonic, precipitation and surface water was surveyed through which the surface water condition and distribution regularity can be shown. So that we can distinguish the kind of groundwater, the condition of alimentation, excretion and run off. At the same time, the divide, situation and thickness of water-bearing formation were interpreted. The methods used in field were surveyed, the condition of compatibility and characteristics were pointed out in the paper. From these study, we can draw an important conclusion that it is the best of using gas-lift reverse circulation in the river valley plain and river terrace of Xilamulun river, Shaolang river and Laoha river, aeration drilling and pneumatic hammer drilling can be used as an adjuvant method; on the tectonic denude hill, it is the best of using pneumatic hammer drilling. gas-lift reverse circulation, spume drilling can be used as adjuvant methods. In the space sandy ground, dry air drilling and pneumatic hammer drilling can be used mainly, but spume drilling air drilling and air-lift reverse circulation can be used as adjuvant methods. Several air drilling technology introduced in this paper is very important. Taking field water drilling as an example, the whole drilling water well is shown, through solving the problems during work, many experiments were brought out. Main conclusions conclude the contents three pointes. Firstly, in order to make air drilling technology most efficient, at the same time save money, we should use one or several drilling methods according to the actual condition. What must attention is we should have an aim. It is not suitable to change drilling method frequently.
