Aerosol is a multiphase system including solid, liquid and gas which diameter is between 0.001 and 10 urn. There are three types of formation mechanisms, they are nucleus forming spontaneously, particle condensing and coarse distributing. There exists a close relation between aerosol and environment, and the distributing characteristics of aerosol has significant influence on the environmental change, human health and biological effect.To discuss the climatic effect of atmospheric aerosol in regional scale and the remote sensing application in air pollution and regional climatic effect, MODIS data, with parameter model, has been used to retrieve aerosol optical thickness, then the response relation between aerosol and climate change has been analyzed making use of this result and the meteorological data, it could give some scientific reference to the researcher on the PM2.5 and PM10' concentration distribution, source, motion path and also the cause of formation of climate in regional scale.In this paper, the satellite remote sensing method of retrieving aerosol optical thickness has been put forward according to radiative transfer equation and satellite remote sensing principle, supposing the aerosol size follows Junge distribution and using zenith angle, relative azimuth, atmospheric reflectivity, down-atmospheric-transmissibility, up-atmospheric-transmissibility, scattering rate and land surface reflectivity. Since EOS-Terra/MODIS contains the characteristic information of aerosol, the data of channel 1 to 7 from 2002 to 2004 has been used to retrieve aerosol optical thickness. First, recognize water body in the edge detection and the normalization index method, and clear cloud in RBFNN and homomorphic filtering method; then retrieve aerosol optical thickness basing on the remote sensing information model. We has found an algorithmic method on mountainous radial flux according to one revising empirical formula, and calculated mountainous heat in separating-synthesis method, then analyzed the response relation between aerosol optical thickness and climatic effect in parent correlation and departure correlation technology.The result of classifying indicates that there are great contributions introducing RBF to improve the classify precision in the course of distinguishing composite pixel, so this method has been applied successfully in distinguishing stratus, cirrus cloud, water body and vegetation.The simulating result on radial flux in troposphere shows it varies with zenith angle and height.
