Based on the formation theory of landslide, this paper analyzes each factor which may cause the hill-slide, such as the topographical terrain, geological structure, human action and rainfall etc. of the Tai Mountain. Some techniques on the displacement monitoring with GPS, such as the reference point location, stability test, monitoring point setting, optimizing the monitoring network, determination of the monitoring period, monitoring error and drawing the monitoring plan etc. are discussed. The hill at the Shandong province Tai mountain Daiyue district Xiajiang country is chosen as the experimental district where has more severe hill-slide dangerous. In order to reduce the lose and protect the safety of the people's lives and wealth, the method of the GPS monitoring and prediction is used on the chosen hill. With the direction of the theory, it is reasonable to set and observe the reference point and locate the correspond monitoring point. Following the monitoring plan, the 8 cycles of the monitoring are taken on the GPS monitoring network. The influence of different network structures, different original known points and different solving soft wares on the results is analyzed and compared to make a conclusion that three coincidence is very important in deformation monitoring on slip. After analyzing the displacement velocity and the characterization of the deformation of the hill-slide, the deformation stage can be preliminary confirmed.
