Based on theories and methods of coal-bed methane (CBM) geology, natural gas geology, coal geology, tectonics, coal chemistry, and geohistory, using the data of drilling, logging, core analysis, production and experimental analysis, this thesis studies the regional geology background, the characteristics of gas source rock and reservoir and analyses the conservational conditions of CBM in center of Fuxin basin. Thereby, it is pointed out the CBM geologic characteristics: coal beds are many and thick, and magma intrusion leads to increasing of gassing and connectedness of coal; the fold especially syncline-controlling is favorable for CBM reservoir. Through exploitation and utilization of CBM in this basin, it is proved that these conclusions are true and they offer the scientific basis for studying and exploiting CBM further.
