GIS(Geographic Information System)is a kind of computer information system which has those function of input, store, manage, analyse, output and spatial information being expressed. GIS is widely used in agriculture, electric power, traffic, telecom and city construction resource management.This thesis analyses the current use of GIS in many fields . It indicates that it is not easy to use for those GIS which are popular in those days in small scale management fields. This thesis researched on several selected technologies of GIS , analysed data management technology of GIS, discussed objects spatial analysis method of GIS. With the method of object-oriented management it discusses the base function of AMGIS. With the help of UML modeling language and object-oriented technology the construction of AMGIS is designed.Under the development platform of Visual C++ and MFC the prototype system of AMGIS has been gained successfully. It includes a easy-use interactive using mouse or keyboard graphics editor. It also offer those function of opening and closing graph-lay, locking graph-lay, the change of current graph-lay in anytime, establishing or deleting graph-lay. With the ODBC interface of RDBMS It can use in distributing and the success management of connection between graphics and attribute data record. It has the function of spatial analyse and information query from graphics to attribute data record or from attribute data record to graphics.This thesis also discussed the use of AMGIS in local region water supply pipe net management system.At last The thesis processed unit test and assembly test. The software satisfied the demands in design by debugging.
