| In this thesis, the process of workout program for forest management of JI LIN province is shown. Base on lots of material and information the software in common use Mapobject 2.0 and Visual Basic 6.0 is used. This software can be used in forest office forest bureau and forest farm. It can input forest data, output data, output forestry map, calculate relative data, export tables, browse, zoom-in, zoom-out and other common function. This program has been studied when GIS is introduced to JILIN province just soon. It is necessary that GIS is introduced to forest management of JILIN province to be in use in forest resource of JILIN province shortly and make the management level step up. This program is new attempt of GIS to JILIN province forest. It would be used widely in JILIN province and can make great social and economical benefit. Because of the software use, labor force and substance can be spared very much. Before this software used, it spend several month to make a map. As the GIS is introduced, few days is necessary from revising to output map and few people is needed. This software can run on Windows very well. After it is used some time later .all the user appreciated it well .It can spare time ,spare workforce ,reduce the work-intensity .It can make lots money for the enterprise .Through using inquire function, user can gain most useful information speedy and exactly to be a theoretically base for decision-maker. We can use the spatial function to analyze geographical factor scientifically to make management program and so on.
