Researches on Yellow River Delta were mainly in the abandoned delta region of Chengbei in the past, while few researches were done in other regions (Yellow River course, tidal creek, and Yellow River estuary region). And the sediments of each deposition system were lack of systematic research. According to the situation, four research region are selected in this paper, which are abandoned underwater delta, Yellow River course & estuary region, and Taoer River course.the study was done about engineering property of the deposition in Yellow River delta. With the rapid development of the exploration of marine oil gas, the dieffernt of sedimentary engineering properties is concerned in Yellow Delta region, where many researchers have studied the occurrences of geologic casualty. In use of the engineering practical data in the region in past years, different deposition systems of Yellow Delta, Yellow River estuary region, abandoned underwater delta and tidal creek are detailedly discussed in this paper. The governing factors of difference of engineering properties of different sediment are represented through the comparison of sediment in each deposition system, such as physical character, mechanical property, grain size character and dynamics feater. The results show that the primary sedimentary environment of sediment is the main governing factor of the difference of engineering properties of sediment in each sedimentary system; consolidation and seepage is the dominating cause to improve the engineering properties of soft oil in Yellow Delta; the liquefied process of granular soil with wave load is the main governing factor to improve the surface silt intensity of sea bottom in Yellow Delta.
