Firstly, we introduced the related background knowledge of Digital Geometry Processing. Then we thoroughly discussed three kinds of algorithms of Digital Geometry Processing,they are DGP algorithms based on relaxation operator, DGP algorithms based on remeshing, DGP algorithms apply for special geometry image, and analyzed advantage and disadvantage of all kinds of algorithms, after that we discussed the Key Technology, mesh simplification, in Digital Geometry Processing. We mainly studied the mesh simplification method of triangle fold, we improved algorithms of mesh simplification based on former algorithms, compared with former algorithms after improvement, our algorithms greatly made time shorten and method simple. Under the condition of keeping original topo construction, the improved algorithm keeps its' detial characteristic,can adapt for various special needs.Because of adoptting effective method of error measure, we can control precision of inborned model,by adjusting error on edge, we can have a series of simplified mesh body with various precision.The improved algorithm adopt the method by user defines value of error, it makes quality of mesh simplification satisfies the various needs of user. The improved algorithm have powerful universality and practicability . Lastly we gave an apply of digital geometry processing, that is we gave a general frame for compression of geometry signal.the frame is easy and simply to use,it do better for bite rate and lossless, all the mesh attribute can be consistencily compressed, it can easily integrate algorathm of image compression. In the condition of higher compressed ratio we can get the best compressed quality.we also constructed a kind of progressive mesh simplification algorthm of triangle fold,we can use it as the part of mesh simplification in our frame for boosting efficiency and precision of algorthm.
