The Kongquehe slope is located in North-East of Tarim base. The explore status and petroleum geological condition has confirmed that the Jurassic and Silurian of this area have a exciting prospect. The condition of origin rocks is superiority as there develope two series hydrocarbon origin rocks of Cambrian-Ordovicion and Jurassic. The former has evolved in high mature period to produce gas meanwhile the later only reach lower or mature period . The development of fault connecting to origin rock is basic condition of Cambrian-Ordovicion reservoir formation. The trap of Jurassic is restricted by the origin rocks depression bound. The reservoir is sand of Silurian and Jurassic especially of delta and distributary fluvial facies sand. The growth of well reservoir sand is the key fector for gas reservoir to form in this area. By the small porosity of Silurian compact sand , the position where comparative homogeneous sand growth with little mud or fracture concentrated is the location for gas to enrich. The Kongquehe slope develop two kinds of seal rocks . The general seal incude mud and salt layer. The ingenaral seal is compact sand. The efficiency cover control the distribution of petroleum . The envelop capacity of seal influence the formationand and scale of reservoir. The main kind of trap is structure trap as anticlinal or fault anticlinal with high closure height and big area. So the trap is put into effect and its formation match the period of hydrocarbon runoff. The trap factor is subordinate at present in this area.In the Kongquehe slope, the oil and nature gas is mostly distributed in Silurian and Jurassic sand. The Longkou anticlinal strip is the best one of five structure belt in the slope and the fifth trap of the Longkou strip is a favourable target for future explore.
