Under the modem war conditions, it is very important to discover the dangerous martial object early enough. Theoretically, it means to obtain the dynamic image of object with high speed from a long distance. The stimulant image system can capture the object with a high speed, but the image quality is very low and it's hard to progress the image later. Using CMOS sensor can simplify the whole system, the advanced manufacture of CMOS integrates many functions into one chip, so one CMOS image sensor can be used instead of a whole CCD image circuit, which decrease the manufacture cost. These characters make CMOS more convenient and simpler to obtain and process the image information. Building an image system with CMOS and high performance DSP chip, the design of electric circuit will be much simpler and the system will be more miniature. The whole process is digital process and the CMOS chip is Random - Accessible, so it is convenient to program to complete image-processing with DSP.For the long distance between the object and sensor, the image of the object will be very small on the imaging plane, so the object will be very easily to be submerged with the background. To resolve the moving point target detection problem under the condition of low Signal Noise Rate (SNR), a new point target detection algorithm based on generalized edge extracted by order morphology filtering is used. Two steps of point target detection are adopted. First, background suppression and generalized inner-edge of targets extraction are performed by order morphology filtering whose percentile selected to pick out a small quantity of possible moving point targets. Then the motion constraint equation of the targets is set up according to the optical flow model. By use of the model, the true target motion trajectory is detected in multi-fame successive image. After the compare of several advanced optical flow arithmetic, a new optical flow arithmetic including these arithmetic is validated and it is proved to be a effective and fast arithmetic to calculate the optical flow of the object.
